Students Unit – 2019-20 Inauguration Ceremony

The inaugural ceremony of student’s unit of Microbiologist’s Society of India was organized by department of Microbiology on 29th Feb. 2020. An organization created to promote student interest and development in microbiology, and to advance scientific knowledge through personal associations and the interchange of ideas. Dr. VS Wadhai, Chairman of BOS Microbiology, Dr. PR Borkar, Assistant Professor, Sardar Patel College and Prof. AP Gargelwar, Assistant Professor, Chintamani College of Science, were presided as chief guest.

The function begins with garlanding the portrait of Louis Pasteur and curtain raising of student committee of Microbiology society.  Dr. PS Katkar has briefed the programme and given the inaugural remark. Dr. BM Bahirwar has explained the benefits of teamwork for the common cause and creating the sense of responsibility. Dr. VS Wadhai addressed the ceremony with his kind advice to the students and importance of the students club to create the interest in the subject. Dr. PR Borkar and Prof. AP Gargelwar also addressed the function and enlightened the students. Dr. KN Sahare, Prof. GS Ghugare has coordinate the overall functioning the programme.

After the formal inauguration of the function, prize distribution for the winners of the different competition of MICROBIA 2020. All the winners were felicitated by the hands of the chief guest. The students of B.Sc. first year Mr. Rushikesh Bhoskar, Dhanashree Mengineni, and Sana Khan has performed the song on the microbiology which gained an applauds from the guest. Also the street drama on the theme of the “Save the Girl Child” was performed by the B.Sc. II Students. This act has made everyone in the hall amazed and stunned. An act was choreographed by the Prof. GS Ghugare.
