International Conference (Virtual Mode) on “Metabolomics of Cancer” ICMC-2021

Metabolomics has emerged as a new era of technique for profiling metabolic features associated with specific cancer, disease progression, therapeutic liabilities and other clinically relevant aspects of tumor biology. Metabolomics helps to discover novel metabolic regulatory mechanisms, including processes that link metabolic alterations with gene expression, protein function, and other aspects of systems biology.

The Department of Microbiology Guru Nanak College of Science organized One Day International Conference (Virtual Mode) on “Metabolomics of Cancer” ICRST-2021 on Saturday 27th March 2021 on Google Meet.

Convenor of the conference Dr. PS Katkar, HOD Microbiology initiated the inaugural ceremony with is convener address. He delivered introduction on the international webinar, and explains the importance of the new era in cancer research. Principal Dr. BM Bahirwar, address the gathering and conveyed the best wishes for the conference. He also emphasized on the importance of cancer research temperament to be developed among the students and the researchers.

First technical session was initiated with the talk of Dr. Mauro Masiero, Research Associate, ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He delivered talk “The influence of metabolism on drug response in cancer”. Dr. Mauro explain the different methods of system biology and recent technique to diagnose the response of the drug in cancer cells. New novel methods of system biology and bioinformatics has made the cancer research more advanced and feasible. He added. The session ended with the Q and A followed by the vote of thanks by the Dr. KN Sahare.

In the second technical Session, Dr. Venn Vutey, Vice dean of research, Royal Agricultural university, Cambodia delivered the talk on “The acquisition of passive immunity in animals”. He explain the mechanism and process of developing immunity in animals. He has explained to all the participants how to approach lively before the students and researches lively by using recent technologies during this pandemic situation.  The session ended with the Q and A followed by the vote of thanks by the Dr. GS Ghugare.

Prof. GS Ghugare proposed vote of thanks to all the participants, organizers, Hon’ble members of Management and Hon’ble speakers for their active participation, encouragement for the success of the webinar. The technical side of the conference, management and certificate delivery was monitored by the Dr. Dinesh Deshmukh and Dr. Nilesh Jadhav.  Immense help and looked after all the technicalities of the online system for smooth conduction throughout the conference also non-teaching staff of the Department of Micro-Biology took every hardship for the grand success of ICMC-2021.
