Department of Physics is one of the oldest department in the college. It established in1971. The department was fortunate enough to have Prof. Nadgauda as the first Head of Department. Prof Nainani took HOD chair after him which was followed by Prof Nainani. After Prof Nainani retired Prof. A. C. Soitkar who was already member of BOS RTM Nagpur, carried out HOD position successfully.

Dr. V. S. Edlabadkar was the first doctorate of the department who was also HOD of the computer department. It was an honour to mention that he retired as the Principal, M. G. College, Armori. He also had very famous book on quantum mechanics. Prof. P. K. Mulmule was the following HOD who was also acting Principal during his era.

Currently, Dr. B. M. Bahirwar took HOD charge in 2010, he is successfully carrying out all the responsibilities demanded by the position.
