Chemistry is one of the most important subjects as everything you do is nothing but a chemistry. Even our body consists of a lot of chemical compounds. So many chemical reactions continuously occur in your body. In fact all matters are made of chemicals. So the importance of chemistry is that it’s a study of everything.

Guru Nanak College of Science is a single faculty college situated in tribal region of the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state. In our college, we have under graduate and post graduate department of chemistry.

In under graduate department of chemistry, we have seven faculty members. Five faculty members have doctorate degree and one have M.Phil. degree. All faculty members are always involve in active research. Our results are very satisfactory. Every year most of the students preferred chemistry as a subject for their post-graduation. We have well equipped separate laboratory for undergraduate students.

In 1998 we have started postgraduate department of chemistry with the intake capacity of 22 students. The post graduate department has two separate laboratories for M.Sc.-I and M.Sc.-II year. The regular teaching staffs of undergraduate have university approval for post-graduation also. Along with them Ms. Swati Hunge and Ms. Sujata Sheel work on-contract in the department. Beside this every year we appoint three to four contributory teachers especially for post graduate department of chemistry. Around twenty students have secured top positions in the merit list of R T M Nagpur University Nagpur and Gondwana University Gadchiroli. All most all students of the post graduate department have got the placement in different sectors. The chemistry subject provides large opportunities to make the future bright.
